KERR, BEVERLEY (“BEV”)- Born August 24th, 1945 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, passed away October 16th, 2017 at Buchanan Lodge in New Westminster. Bev was predeceased by her parents, Pearl Wright in 1990 and William Kerr in 2001; and by her niece Rosanne Brandvold (nee Boychuk) in 2005. She is survived by her sister, Jo-Anne Boychuk; brother in-law Robert Boychuk; beloved nieces Robin Boychuk (partner Dan) and Rebecca Peters (husband Colin); and two special grand-nieces, Caleigh and Jaden and step grand-nephew, Ben.   Bev had a successful career as a social worker in the B.C. government’s Ministry of Children and Family Development. From 2007-2013, she worked as a child and youth advocate in the office of BC’s first Representative for Children and Youth.    Bev lived in Vancouver's West End for many years and enjoyed jazz music, her dog, “Jojo,” and travelling with her friends and family before being tragically afflicted with an aggressive form of dementia in 2014.  She will be missed terribly by all who knew and loved her.   We would like to thank the staff at Lakeshore Care Centre and Buchanan Lodge for their excellent care of Bev in the last year of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of B.C. in Bev’s name.  A gathering to celebrate Bev’s life will be held from 1:00-4:00PM on October 21st. Please contact Robin Boychuk at robinboychuk@yahoo.ca to RSVP confirming your attendance and for location details.
